Distance: 310 miles

Approx travel time: 4½ hours

From downtown Jackson take US 26 North [East] toward Jackson Airport, Moran Junction and Dubois WY. This drive takes you through the center of the National Elk Refuge, Grand Teton National Park, The Bridger – Teton and Shoshone National Forests and up and over the continental divide through Togwotee Pass [elevation 9520 ft.]. It is 65 miles from Jackson to the top of the pass. You will likely want to stop several times along this route to take pictures of the incredible scenery and the wildlife that is easily observable from the road.

Although it is only 80 miles from Jackson to Dubois the road is curvy and the speed limit is relatively low. Because of the elevation the road can remain snow covered and icy into April. Plan on at least 2 hours for this portion of the trip from October through April and check to be sure the road is open.  Travel information for this section is available at www.geather.gov/alerts/wy.html and/or www.wyoroad.info/pls/Browse/WRR.RoadClosures.

From Dubois follow US 26 toward Riverton WY. Us 26 becomes US 20 & 26 in Riverton.
Stay n US 20 & 26 all the way from Jackson to Casper. Passing through Dubois, Riverton and Shoshoni on the way.  Virtually the entire distance from Jackson to Casper is a 2 lane road. Traffic is very scarce and the speed limit is 60 mph except for the portion between Jackson and Dubois and when passing through a handful of small towns along the way.
From Casper  follow I-25 South [East] for approx 20 miles to exit #160, East Glenrock, onto Highway 20 & 26 [25 Business]. This exit is adjacent to the Dave Johnson power plant on your left hand side situated on the bank of the North Platte River.

Continue on Hwy. 20 & 26 [25 Business] toward Glenrock for approx. 1 mile to the intersection of Boxelder Road [Highway 90, CO. Rd. 117].

Turn left onto Boxelder Road and follow for approx. 5.6 miles to the intersection of Co. Rd. 17A. Co. Rd. 17A is a gravel road on the left a few hundred feet after crossing a small bridge and cattle guard.

Turn left onto Co. Rd. 17A and follow the road for approx. 1.8 miles to the Double D Ranch entrance on the right. Gate entry code will be provided before your trip.
