The Double D Ranch is year round habitat for a large herd of mule deer and the lower elevation aspects of the property and adjoining HMA’s offer excellent antelope hunting.  The ranch also offers prime winter range habitat for elk once snow fall in the higher elevations begins to accumulate and cover available forage.  The Double D Ranch is also
surrounded by the Duncan Ranch, Box Elder Creek, and Hermit Rock,  state-regulated hunter management areas, as well as the Converse County  Park, all of which offer prime deer, elk and antelope habitat.  All together, the ranch is surrounded by more than 20,000 acres of public hunting, fishing and recreational land.
